I love the X452. It's kind of between an SC15 and an SL12 as far as hook gap and wire diameter. I love the Xpoints. I tie, or have tied, most of my bonefish, permit, and striper (East Coast) flies on this hook. I think the Daiichi company has it nailed all around as I also love their small trout hooks. I use Owner Aki for tarpon, but Daiichi for much of everything else. I've rarely used Tiemco's other than on my tube flies so I can't honestly give you a comparison. The TMC 600SP is a superb hook for pike and muskie tube flies, but that's the extent of my exposure to Tiemco.
