Perhaps, "Us fly fish'in Guys" in general should consider that the demands of fly casting vary as hugely with the equipment as with our individual abilities and what current fly-fishing conditions are being addressed. As casting instructors Dan, and as guides in the past, wouldn't you agree that the person holding the stick is the most important aspect of the potential success with a given set of equipment? Often when asked, which set of equipment is best I will answer, while trying to be as PC as possible,
"It depends". General information / direction is best... If I have an opportunity to observe the casting of the person that has asked the question, most often I will have a more justified answer to the question. If not, the answer I provide most often is..."It depends".
