I didn't think that it would be a one piece, or they would have said so.

What sort of ferrule connection does Echo use; is it the Fenwick style female over male type, or a spigot ferrule a la Scott ? Not that that is the secret to whether rods break, but it is a tricky part of the design and manufacturing process.

Last time I broke a rod, on a fish, it was a home built rod on a Scott glass blank; and it broke right at the handle (two piece rod). And yes the fish was down under the boat. I fixed the rod, with a glass and carbon insert, and as near as I can tell, it is as good as new (almost).
