Hey Steve,

The articulated popper idea is one that I utilized for my Sub-Zero Popper.
However, it doesn't serve as a wire leader, like the straight wire would.
When I want a long popper, the Sub-Zero is perfect, without trying to use a long shank hook, which has issues.
This pattern has worked well for redfish (small version) and northern pike (long version).
The articulated concept can solve a lot of fly tying problems!

Not easy to improve on the gurgler, for a light weight, easy-to-tie, easy-to-cast, erratic action, inexpensive, killer bug! Grin!
