Several years ago I broke my favorite 5wt graphite on a salmon on the Yuba and have since been looking for a place or someone that would repair it. The break was the plug part that was in the butt section ferrule... which was a sleeve over design. Several places that I contacted over the years, including Winston, said they wouldn't touch it. Then a couple of weeks ago I came across a link to sweetgrassrods.com advertising that they repair rods. If you're not familiar, these are the cane guys that left Winston when Winston went corporate. I figured these guys... if any... would have the skills to do the repair so I contacted them and today my old friend arrived with a nice note from Glenn!

The repair cost was reasonable ($45... excluding shipping), their nearly instant replies to emails was fantastic, and the turn around was unbelievable. If you have a rod with a tough repair, I'd recommend you give them a shout and a shot. You'll be impressed.
