I loved the video but thought it kind of odd that the statement "No Chumming" was included at the end when during the video trolling flies was acceptable instead? Jay, are we to understand by your statement, "Ryan Edde and I targeted big GT's by painfully reef trolling(which worked)", that you agree trolling a fly isn't really fly fishing? I guess one could argue that sitting in a boat and dragging a fly all over the ocean might even be less sporting than chumming because there is no stalking or casting involved whatsoever. Personally, chumming doesn't bother me one bit as I do it all the time here in SoCal when fly fishing for migratory species such as barracuda and yellowtail. However, when we return to The Villages this October for two weeks, and with nothing but respect for Teannaki, his guide group, and the GT fishery, we will assuredly follow whatever techniques that they are most comfortable utilizing.
