For Keys Tarpon there’s a saying when you fish Tarpon use a no strip approach. This simply means if you think you are retrieving slowly, slow it down even more. As Dan says you have to keep the fly in the bucket which means right in the Tarpons face for as long as possible. NEVER swim a fly towards a fish. It’s crazy that a 100# fish is afraid of a 2” fly and will blow up on it.
