Dan, for Belize tarpon I primarily use a baitfish pattern very similar to the bottom ones on your photo. I find greens, black, purple, pink, white, and especially chartreuse, or combinations of these work well. Some are big and some are small. I have caught plenty of tarpon on clousers, on sea habits, on deceivers, and on small baitfish flies like the Kiss-of-Death.

I totally agree that most of today's flies are variations of older styles. I was going to start a new thread about this so maybe I'll do that later today.
