I took the skiff out for the 2 bloody, boring hours of break-in running. I swear that last hour was actually 2 hours...
The new motor jumps my skiff on plane considerably faster and I'm getting more speed a lower RPMs. I should be saving quite a bit now on fuel.
All went well and so far I'm thrilled with the new motor. Of course it feels a little different than the old F100 (after 14 years you get to know your motor like a wife...) and I need to find the trim "sweet spot" and all that; but so far, so good.
I'm now in the process of swapping out my old manual-crank winch for an electric. I don't drive my skiff onto the trailer and I'm weary of hand-cranking on recovery.
