I know there's been a ton of recent posts about shock tippet/leader -- but I'm wondering if it's possible to use a heavy mono tippet (say 50#) instead of wire for Sierra? I ask because there are other inshore fish like Jacks that seem much more wire-shy, and I'm interested in catching whatever happens to be in the area.
