I do not intend to have my camera take a dunk unless I have the underwater housing for it. I have a regular super zoom right now and it served me well on my kayak and taking pictures of my sediment cores for now 3 years.
The best warranty is the one you never have to use. I believe that the Pentax K5 is robust enough to last for many years. I will be as careful as with my other non weather proof camera.
