Hello Loren,

If I used waterproof in my post, it was a mistake. I meant weather proof as my title indicates.

There are several tests on youtube that show the weather sealing of the K5 series. The most extreme one was a test made by a GI in Afghanistan who buried the camera with sand and washed it under the shower for about 30 seconds. The guy had to shoot that footage a couple time to have it good enough to run on Youtube.

I read some people having the camera take an occasional dunk in water (camera submerged) and it still shoots.

The best weather sealing is from Olympus (E3 and E5 series) with their premium lenses. The guy was able to take subsurface pictures (~ 0.25 m deep) with it.

My camera will be under severe weather since I fish from a kayak. For vacationing, I am buying the Pentax/Tamron/Samsung 18-250mm that is a very good lens and offer reasonable sealing from what the reviews say.
