Hey Serge,

the K5 is indeed a very capable DSLR and these kit lenses provide pretty good image quality if you are ok with slow variable aperture zooms. Pentax is more intense about weather sealing than Canon or Nikon in that they offer consumer grade lenses that are fully sealed which is cool. I think it is important to be clear though....sealed does not mean waterproof. There is zero warranty coverage for water damage and no hard information from Pentax as to how much moisture these setups can tolerate. There are rubber seals that mean you will last longer in the rain than with a Nikon or Canon kit lens, but it's far from waterproof so if you push it and sustain water damage Pentax does not have your back.
