Earl,

From what I've heard the Xi3 11 would be a fabulous rod for big poons. I also agree about lighter lines, especially floaters, not cutting the wind. When the wind got up over 15 or 20 mph, I always switched to the clear intermediate, one weight heavier than my rod's rating; cut the wind like a knife.
