I have the rod in a 8 wt. for permit and I throw a 9 wt. rio line on it. It is a rocket being lined up. With the 8wt. it never really fully loaded until a ton of line was in the air. I have the 11 wt. on order for large tarpon this summer and will try a 11 and 12 line, but I am expecting to put the 12 on the rod. I love the artwork - I need a permit on my rod, I have one on my reel.
