Sage XI3 9' 10wt for tarpon?

Hello,
I was offered a custom Sage 10wt XI3. What is the backbone of this rod for tarpon? I have not cast it yet. Do I need to upline by one line (WF11wt)? I indeed have heard it is quite stiff.
