Great comprehensive report, Clark. Christmas Island definitely should be on one's bucket list if you love FF. You already touched on this subject and I would like to elaborate on what I learned on my first trip concerning the wind/casting . BE ABLE TO CAST AT ALL ANGLES IN 10-20 MPH WINDS on an 180 DEGREE ARC. Your guide will probably see the fish way before you do and will use a clock face to direct your cast. They all have an uncanny ability to spot fish through the ripples caused by the wind. If you can drop your fly, whether it be 40-60 feet out on your first or second cast, your success rate could possibly double.
