I have never stayed anywhere other than Captain Cook, and not for about 10 years, so can only speak about that.

The beach is beautiful but it is on the ocean side, coral reef right to the shoreline, 75 yards of shallow coral, then the violent impact zone of ocean swells. Not really any swimming there unless something has changed, maybe a swimming pool (doubt it).

All the swimming opportunity would be on the lagoon side...a drive from CC Hotel.

Many non-fishermen travel to CI. 99% of them are birders and the bird life is wonderful and fascinating, but some special, non-fishing travel is needed. Other than that some cultural touring might be possible. But it had better be a very long and very good book, tempered by an infinite load of sunblock!

Some might love it. Ex-wife-#1 would not have...never came.
