Nice catch; but it's not unusual to nail a steelhead or salmon anywhere on the delta. I've caught them on flies in Fisherman's cut; False River; the Moke and even in Mildred Lake.

There are lots of smallies in the Liberty Island Minor Slough areas of the Sac.

Ha, I was thinking before I opened your post that I was going to see a Northern pike or a snakehead - heaven forbid!
