I can only speak about the Channel Islands but our WSB are lazy feeders if they are targeting squid. The few I have gotten have come on slow retrieves, using a squid or deceiver pattern and usually in 40-50' of water. Twice we found them chasing fin bait and then they would eat a slightly faster retrieve. I am looking forward to this season and trying out the lines advocated by the Calico Syndicate for deeper water.
