I was going to chime in about ethanol being the culprit remembering we talked about pure gas not being available in Ca when we went fishing at Striperfest. I pay a premium for what is called Recreational fuel here in Florida rather than put ethanol in my tank. These days that's a little north of $4 gal but I do get much better mileage. One problem with ethanol is water separation and as you know running water through the motor via the injectors is catastrophic. Another problem with ethanol is you need gas lines that resist breakdown in alcohol. You should check your lines to make sure they are ethanol compliant before installing a new motor.
