Hi Dan,

No denying that winter fishing in this neck of the woods is a frosty proposition. Still, look at those steelhead guys - this kind of musky fishing has GOT to be warmer than wading the ice flows.

Remember that winter is not the only option. They are available 365 days a year. Pick a time frame that works with your schedule (and heat/cold tolerance) and you can work out a good trip. I think that the key is working with some one who has really studied the fishery. They'll get on fish.

RE pike - yep - I've seen some of your photos - I am truly envious. Videos that I've seen suggest sight fishing and surface flies are possible. That would be so cool - and is on MY bucket list.
