Robert,
A long time ago. Orvis had a bright yellow fly line called the "wonder line" I loved the way the line cast, however for the obvious reasons of being bright yellow I decided to play with its brightness and try and tone it down a little. I took a black marking pen and for about the first 30-40 feet from the tip I did a camo job on it, well after a few days in the Mexico sun and saltwater the line all kinda mellowed out to a soft camo brown. I loved it, it worked fine however after 3-4 hundred Dorado it turned into a dish rag like most saltwater lines that have been well used. If I was going to do another I might use a dark brown marking pen (the camo job takes about 10 min.) my 2 cents
