|Being up late very last night into the early hours of the morning watching the meeting at the link that Barry had posted in an earlier thread was not planned. Quite frankly... I thought the formal speakers on behalf of the fish were a bit boring and dry with their message... but that's likely because they were coming from a base of knowledge that is beyond mine. However... the testimony from the public was riveting and, at times, entertaining. It seemed that everyone had something good to say and the underlying message was that the pumps are the real issue.|
It is very difficult to speak in front of a commission because you can't go in with something scripted... it HAS to be free form because of the format which makes it difficult to deliver a focused message. Kudos to all those that spoke and kudos to everyone else that showed. From what I've heard, there were loads of people that ended up having to sit outside and watch from monitors. The show of force, something our public officials can not afford to ignore, was big a contributor to the outcome.
