Lee,

I use a Bimini almost all the time for mono shock line or for mono shooting line to backing. However, when I do get lazy or I know my rigging will never get tested by a real serious critter, I opt for a 3-through Surgeon's loop. It's strong a hell and easy to tie. I use the same knot for making an attaching loop for the shooting head.
