On line shoppers are COMPARATIVE shoppers who want quick and intuitive access to value and selection. Kaufmann's didn't provide that. If I want a fishing hat and a website has 2 buffs as the only items under their hat selection, I probably won't bother spending any more time on that site, much less make the effort to drive to their store.

If I happen to be looking for a buff and one store has 2 and the next has 2 dozen and gives free freight plus no tax - it's a no brainer. B&M stores who only dabble in on-line sales are hurting their image. They would be better off advertising their presence on-line, but leave e-commerce to the pros.
