We all get 'used' to something and we all resist change. I'm the worst. However it depends on where your instruments are located. For me standing at the CC I don't need the magnifier to see the instruments so it's no big deal. Same with driving the car. If I did, I'd slide them down and take a look. It's all the same in reverse.
They do slide down when the nose bridge is sweaty and I have to keep pushing them back up; but the have foam pad for that.
The problem of wading, walking, not wanting blurred vision when looking down is eliminated. I think overall it's a better way to go. But hey, they only way someone like you will be convinced is for you to give them a fair try. I had my arms crossed over my chest too at the start but now they are wide open...
