Competitiors in the 5 weight distance casting competition can carry - that is false cast 80-90 feet of line in the air, if you can't do this you're not going to be in the competition. To hit 115 to 130 feet the rest is shot. The front 90 feet of an SA MED weighs in at 380 grains, the TCR 5 weight carries that OK, its up to the casters technique to keep it all in line. 80 feet of fly line behaves very differently from 27 feet of T14. There's plenty of footage on various sites of casters doing this.
