When I first met Len, also in the 1990's and again working on roofing projects for which he was the Wiseman, I had to ask him if he was the same Len Bearden, the fisherman from Los Gatos... His understated manner brightened perceptibly as replied that he was. He was always fair and open, even though he knew I was no fly fisherman and didn't like boats much... Both our passion and our trade are the poorer for his passing.
