I totally concure with that observation. That seems like a really extreme example, the fact that someone would go out and troll all day long and sit in the bar saying he was casting. I think someone like that has much bigger problems with his character than just trolling flies.
If I went out and had a great week catching sailfish and that I boated 20 and 2 or 3 of those happened to be trolled hookups, is it really necessary for me to *astrix* those 2 or 3 fish to make a legitimate honest report? I would gladly share that information personally (as Carl did) I jsut dont see the hooplah in making sure you announce it.
I understand that fly fishing is a sport and some "rules" do apply. I totally repect that, but I am an angler and would gladly cast a spinning rod/reel if that seemed apropriate for a situation. What are the rules for casting/trolling a spinning rod?
sometimes thinking outside the box can bring about innovation. Sometimes rules are broken to step out and try something else.
I dont expect any answers to these questions...this thread could go on for ever.LOL Im just kind of thinking outloud and looking at things from a different angle. I am sorry if I ruffled anyone. I didnt mean to. Thanks for the comments and I do appreciate and respect yours and Dans perspective.
