I only met Mel a few times but he was one of those people who are so full of life they stick in your memory. I bumped into him at Guer Aike Estancia in Santa Vruz, Argentina. We were headed to Tierra del Fuego and so we bent Mel's ear, hoping for some insider advice. His words of wisdom for me: "Find stupid fish. Preferrably hungry stupid fish, but stupid mostly." He also made a big deal of pulling me aside and secretly giving me his prized "mojo" rock. I think Mel gave away about a guhzillion "prized mojo rocks" - he was just that kind of guy. Be of peaceful mind, Fannie. Mel lives on in many many people's hearts and minds.
