...and Fanny, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I was never part of Mel's inner circle or anybodies inner circle for that matter but I had made a point of watching Mel teach several times.

I have to say he was the most wonderfully animated and articulate man--a gifted teacher and I never ever had any qualms about recommending his book, his video and eventually his DVD even to my own students. Mel could put to words--he could find a way to explain almost anything-- in a way that everybody could understand it.

The flyfishing community has suffered a tremendous loss but perhaps not nearly the loss Fanny has suffered. Our hearts go out to you, Fanny.
