Inexpensive camera to video fly casting lessons??

Hi guys,
I am interested in buying an inexpensive video camera to record and playback fly casting
lessons and practice. I would most often be framing the caster, not watching
the loops unroll. I would likely mount it on a tripod and let it run.
It would be nice if I could watch a playback on the camera itself but
that is not required. I would like to upload to a Mac.

Would one of the GoPro or Flip cameras give good enough images for this?
