There is nothing wrong with what you're doing, it works for you & that's great. When your have confidence in what you're using you more in tune with what is going on around you resulting in better decision making & more hook ups. Experimenting with different colors & different flies is a lot fun & will teach you a lot about how fish react in changing conditions but I think that if you don't have confidence in what you’re doing you better off fishing what you have confidence in.
