Most use 20 or 30 pound high quality braided Dacron line.
Less expensive braided Dacron is very large in diameter.
We have had requests from several salt water guides to have the backing in a visable color so they can tell where their client's fish is headed to control the boat properly. They did not like white. I think orange was the most visible but what do others think?
If capacity is an issue some use Gel-spun but it is hard to tie up and is a little dangerous. It can cut into your hands and fingers.
Flat fishing can be a lot of things.......wading for 3 pound Bonefish in the tropics or polling in a boat for world class Permit. |
