| You shoulda been here tomorrow! Yes, there was a run of Tarpon in the Islamorada area before the wind came up last week. According to the folks I know down there they were concentrated in one channel in Islamorada with a few appearances in the BC as well. Today was another story. Several spots out back were checked out as well as a run up the ocean side from Layton to Tea table. No fish were seen at all. After a phone consult with a local guide who was fishing out back there were no fish back there as well. I found out that last month was pretty good fishing, darn, I missed it! Keep an eye on your favorite wind website before you make any plans. It's been blowing 15-20 for a week until today. I expect if it stays nice that next week the fish will start showing again. That's it from Islamorada. I hope the folks further south had better luck. |
