Hey Steve,

I have fished with Ian Cuevas 2 years now, and he knows the water well. However, the Garbutt brothers have a great reputation, and even have cottages right at the dock.
The environment from Placentia to PG is dramatic. Placencia has coral flats/reefs and PG has grass flats surrounding small islands. Very different, but great permit water.
If you fish out of PG it is close to several great rivers that can hold some nice junior sized tarpon, with an occasional big girl, as well as jacks, etc. The Yacacos Lagoon is not far, either, and this shallow, mud-bottomed estuary can be very effective for "traveling permit", which are somewhat easier to catch than tailers out on the flats.
PG is not as nice as Placencia, with few "good" restaurants! PG is not really a tourist town like Placencia.

Hope this helps.

Lee
