Before the wind started honking about 10 days ago there were good numbers of tarpon popping up in Florida Bay and the Gulf backcountry. But with the persistent 20+ winds of the last week or so, water temps were pushed back into the low to mid 70's and the tarpon slid back into the deeper water for the time being. Winds are predicted to keep blowing through this coming weekend. Permit weather rather than tarpon.
