| Aloha Steve, here in hawaii we get realtively small tides plus or minus 3 feet, so that is a 6 foot swing on dark of full moons. Doc Hall gave yo good advice, but it depends on the particular flat you are going to fish. The bones feed better on an incomming tide and wait to get up on the flat. If that happens in the evening at sunset and is only 1 foot then you get tailers and that is what most guys are after. I would get a tide chart and plan my fishing aroung the good tides. The 1/4 moon tides will give you a longer period of optimal tides to fish. Main thing is to spend time on the flats and see how and when the fish show during the various tides. Good luck, Mems. |
