Jeroen,

You've just echoed my experiences and thoughts exactly! Like you, I've got thousands of slides stored in boxes and in slide carousels that can be scanned if needed. I love the logistics of not having to carry volumes of film rolls and then having to worry about processing; culling and so on.

You still have to compose, expose and know when to use flash and so forth with digital imaging; so needed basic skills are still needed to get good photos. Also being able to tweak digital photos with a good photo editor is a huge boon over film.

I use 35mm SLR digital cameras with good lenses. I really dislike the simple point and shoot cameras for most of my photograph.

Dan
