Thanks to all for the input. I looked at a bunch of squid fly pics and also the real thing and I will be tying a few different styles up to try in Baja in May. I have this vision of an articulated squid, with rubber tentacles, and huge eyes. I will probably go with a kinky muddler style body but I may try to incorporate some marabou around the tentacles and weave some UV polar chennile into the body. I am still uncertain about size and color but I guess I can't go wrong with a fly about 4-5 inches in white or brown, pink or orange, and maybe even chartreuse.
