Here in Loreto we fish squid flies for squid! At times, when the urge is great...we go out at night over towards Coronado island and fish florescant or irridescant flies for squid. It is a lot of fun and I first realized how mean those animals are. As I was fishing a fly..my son was fishing a typical squid plug dropping to the bottom. As a squid of about 10 lbs was making his way to the surface he spotted my son, squirted ink directly at his face and just about knocked him out of the panga. My son had to dive in just to rid himself of the ink..a catsup consistency. It was about the funniest thing ever to happen to us on a fishing trip. Squid catching squid.....go figure.
