Dan. If you are alone as a fly angler amongst a mixed group of gear anglers on Nomad then you will probably share with 2-3 anglers on the boat. Most of the gear anglers on the Nomad trips are there for popping so the bat drifts the edges of the reef system in likely spots, same as you would for fly fishing, so fly castijng is reasonably mixable with the others.Nomad will do their best to accomodate you with your fly fishing and will often give you a boat and guide to yourself to fly fish in peace when they can.I agree that mixing styles is not the best situation, but I have found that the other anglers have been very kind and accomodating in giving you space and time-but the best scenario is to be with company that fly fishes.
I am booked on one of the special fly fishing trips for this upcoming October to Bligh Reef. I will be taking everything from a #7wt through to #14wts to take advantage of all situations and opportunities that I can, because quite simply Nomad provide those opportunities that are usually so hard to find, and it is for me an experience to behold.
These special fly trips that Nomad are now doing will be the answer to many a saltwater fly fishermans prayer and will offer some unique opportunities.
