Serge,
These flies are extremely different that that of Enrico. First off, Enrico does not do much articulating on his flies. He used to do a popper many years back using an articulated tail. More importantly, you ought to go buy one of his Kinky Muddler flies (sold thru Orvis) to see the difference. In short, Jonny is spinning (not really- but sort of) Slinky fiber to build up a a wider profile head and then trimming it to shape in order to get that fatter side to side, rounder profile then Enrico gets (which is more baitfish-wide like). The difference is that Jonny's fly can immulate a more sardine, mullet (slender) looking baitfish more accurately than ever seen before using synthetics and best of all PUSH lots of water when retrieved due to its engineering. I will say this but know Jonny will be embarrased some....It is BRILLIANT in design. So simple, yet never done with synthtics before. Hope that answers some of your questioning of this type fly.
