| Get about 20 feet of line outside the rod tip and keep it in the air while practicing the double haul. Watch the line and develop a sense of the tempo and timing of the hauling without actually tossing the line out for the cast. It is a matter of the three T's Temper, Timing and Tempo. For me it was getting the feeling of the line sliding through the guides at the right point in the stroke. I am no great caster so maybe this crude example will help? |
