I belive it is an explosive rod. I was looking at several rods some months ago and I finally settle on Thomas & Thomas. I have some Horizon II rods that are great rods too. But the TNT are what I like the best for the salt. A fast action rod, light rod almost weightless, loads very good at the backcast and I dont really need a heavier weight flyline for it. It is 4 pieces wich comes handy for traveling (I was tired of my 2 and 3 piece rods). Big & strong guides and even the red color is a nice finish on it. It is a rod that can fight the wind as I had the day we caught that baby permit. I mostly fish 8,9 & 10 Wts TNT rods. I already caught a 9.5 bone on the 8 Wt TNT matched with a Charlton reel (also great real! father of the Mako). And I will probably be casting my TNT 12 Wt on Atlantic sails by the end of this month. I still got to try that one out but so far so good.... Best Nassim Joaquin
