It has been a long time since I've gotten a new fly rod. All my rods (5wt, 8wt, 9wt, 11wt) are Sage RPL or RPLx. Been throwing them for the last 20 years, and now I'm considering a new multi-purpose rod for doing Florida large mouth bass/peacock bass, and for light flats/inshore fishing (bones/lady fish/reds/snook).
I'm thinking that a 7wt would be my best choice and I have been looking at TFO rods as I understand they are great rods for the buck. However, my problem is that I really have no idea which one (the many types that I see on their site is rather confusing) to consider. I am a reasonably good caster, and the fast rods are very appealing, but I never tossed one as my rods are of the medium to medium-fast type. |
