Jon, Your squid looks like candy for a fish to eat. Nicely done. I have been tossing squid flies for years (except on Lake Lanier- as we do not gwt a squid run any longer ;-). I would suggest wrapping some .030 or .035 lead wire around the hook shank to get your flies to fall into the strike zone more quickly. I tie all my squid flies using some weight in them. My squidward pattern, while not as realistic looking as yours has ALWAYS caught fish due to two things: 1- breathability 2- weighted to get it into the eating zone. [click here to display pictures]
