I agree... the factory foam nubs should be taller. I ended up modifying my bucket with some model rocket plastic nose cones using urethane glue to seal the bottom in place and to mount the cones to the nubs. The fly line sometimes gets caught in the junction between the cones and the nubs which I'll have to solve with a fillet of glue. Other than that, the modified bucket works well.
