Like Dan said. And I consider 70ft to be at the long end of a medium range cast. Get 35 or so feet of line out plus 9ft of leader plus much of the length of the rod and shoot 20 ft of line and you are 70ft from where you are standing. I often fish size 6 Clouser minnows just like this.
